During its GamesCom presentation in Cologne, Germany today Sony announced a worldwide price adjustment to the PlayStation 3 console. The PS3 will now be $249.99 160 GB model in the US and €250 in Europe.

Sony has just released a new mandatory Playstation 3 Firmware v3.61 in preparation for the return of its PlayStation Network service. The update requires users to change their PSN password as part of the new security put in place since Sony’s servers were attacked last month.
