How To Jailbreak iOS 5 Final Using Redsn0w for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad

Apple released iOS 5 Final version for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad now. iPhone Dev Team member confirmed that iOS 5 Final is same like the previous iOS 5 GM build. So iOS 5 final running on iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod touch 4G and 3G and iPad 1 can be successfully tethered Jailbreak with RedSn0w. We are writing a guide on how to Jailbreak iOS 5 final on iPhone 4/3GS, iPod touch 4G/3G and iPad.

Let us remind you that iOS 5 is tethered Jailbreak for now so you have to boot tethered your device every time your device reboots. Members of Chronic Dev Team working on Jailbreaking iOS 5 for iPhone 4S and iPad 2 and they already found 5 userland exploits to Jailbreak 5. It’s just a matter of time when Jailbreakers will release it.

NOTE: All those who rely on UltraSn0w unlock should avoid to update iOS 5 for now. As you might lose your Unlock on iPhone.

How To: Jailbreak iOS 5 on iPhone 4/3GS , iPod touch 4G/3G and iPad:

Step 1: First of all update your iOS device to Final version of iOS 5. Download iOS 5 HERE,

Step 2: Your iOS device should be running on iOS 5, If not Update your iPhone to iOS 5 using iTunes.

Step 3: Now Open Redsn0w (download link below) and select “Extras” and browse for iOS 5 which you downloaded earlier.

Step 4: Once the firmware has been verified click back and then Jailbreak.

Redsn0w will now prepare data for Jailbreak.

Step 5: Redsnow will now prompt you to switch off your iPhone and plug in to computer. RedSn0w will then guide you to how to put your device in DFU mode. Follow the steps carefully, if it get’s wrong don’t worry, try the whole procedure from the start again.

Step 6: Once your iPhone entered in DFU mode, Redsn0w will start Jailbreaking your device, your device will restart and You will get a Cydia on your homescreen.

Voila! Your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad on iOS 5 are fully Jailbroken. Enjoy :)

If ever you reboot your device just connect your device to computer and open Redsn0w and click “Extras” and then click “Just Boot” and it will guide you to put your device in DFU mode and then it will be rebooted.

NOTE: If you jailbreak your device on iOS 5 firmware, keep in mind that you will not receive any future updates via OTA until you restore back to stock iOS 5 firmware.
