Today iH8sn0w developer and hacker released an updated version of Snowbreeze which Jailbreaks iOS 5 Beta 2 on iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. Now we are hearing good news about iPhone 4 Unlockers as reports are coming that Gevey Sim still works on iOS 5 Beta 2 by using Sn0wbreeze.

Yesterday we reported about Apple blocking of Gevey Sim unlock in iOS 5 Beta 2. But now Veence just tweets saying, Gevey Sim still works on iOS 5 Beta 2 if Sn0wbreeze baseband preservation is used.

People are reporting that after a baseband preservation of iOS5b2 FW w/@iH8sn0w‘s sn0wbreeze, Gevey SIM is still working. Good news.

For all those who don’t know Gevey SIM for iPhone 4 basically works by forcing the activation of the baseband using the emergency dialer, and it is vulnerable up to iOS 5 Beta 1. You can read more about Gevey sim HERE. There is no software unlock for baseband 01.59.00, 02.10.04, 03.10.01, 04.10.01 and04.11.04. All users with the mentioned baseabnd will have to use Gevey Sim.

We are still digging if Gevey Sim works on iOS beta 2 after Sn0wbreeze Baseband Preservation or not. We will update this post when we get a confirmation. If the news confirmed so all iPhone 4 users will then use Sn0wbreeze preservation baseaband once the iOS 5 is release for public.
