iPhone, iPod touch and iPad are one of the famous portable devices for gaming nowadays. With more than 425,000+ Apps for iOS devices, iPhone is become one of world most used portable gaming device. One big advantage of iPhone gaming is the cheap prices of the games app, on the other hand Windows Phone device giving some great features to it’s users with full Xbox Live integration in WP7 but on the other hand prices are way high for Windows Phone games in comparison to iPhone.
Almost all games on Windows Phone 7 device are priced twice or thrice higher than iPhone games.
Consider the following glaring examples: Max & The Magic Marker, Deer Hunter 3D costs just $0.99 on iOS, whereas it costs $4.99 on WP7.
Then you’ve got games on WP7 that are priced twice as high as their price on iPhone: Bubble Town, geoDefense. It’s quite rare to find titles that are priced same on both platforms (The Sims 3 being one example; being priced $6.99 on WP7 and iOS).
One reason why Developers are charging more on Windows Phone 7 games and not on iPhone because developers has to do more hard work to integrate their games with Xbox Live for Windows Phone 7, second main reason could be the the amount of gaming users on iPhone, developers made alot of revenue from iOS games sales where as due to lack of users on Windows Phone 7, It is not that much profitable to developers, so in order to maximize revenue, developers charge their games higher on WP7.
