HTC is finally set to release their first tablet HTC Flyer to public. Late yesterday evening Best Buy issued a short press release stating the launch date for HTC’s first tablet. HTC Flyer will become available for purchase from Best Buy on May 22.
The HTC Flyer is a 7-inch Android slate based on a 1.5GHz Qualcomm single-core processor running Android 2.4. It has Aluminum unibody design with touch and pen interaction make HTC Flyer unique. Two cameras are also on board: a 5-megapixel one on the back and an additional 1.3-megapixel camera on the front for video calls.

Best Buy today announced that the Wi-Fi only version of the HTC Flyer™ tablet launches on May 22. All Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile standalone stores, as well as BestBuy.com, will have the tablet exclusively at launch. The HTC Flyer is a fast, portable, light-weight tablet that integrates the immersive and highly intuitive HTC Sense™ experience and enables content including videos, music, games and more to be easily accessed and enjoyed. If you’ve pre-ordered HTC Flyer, or even if you haven’t, expect to get your hands on it May 22nd at Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile stores. Finally, you get HDMI output, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi but no 3G, and all of this will set you back $499.99. If you want 3G/4G on your tablet then you must wait for sprint version of the device.
