If you have just updated your iOS device and got a same messae as shows in above screenshot, you must follow the below instructions, One poster on the forums has posted a solution for this:

After holding down the on/off button and home button at the same time the phone turned off.  I then held down the home button while plugging into Itunes.  The phone prompted me to reset the phone which I did. Luckily I had backed up prior to trying to update.  Now I have the 4.3.3 update and the phone is working. Whew!

I have done the above 8 times….it’s an iPad so it when I hold the home button when connecting to USB itunes says the device is in recovery mode, I click ok,then click restore…it downloads the update (4.3.3) and upon completion of the restore, I get the same message as above. Took it to the Apple store and being told through the support line that I needed to take it in and they told me the validation servers are down specific to the iPad and could not tell me when they would be back up, but to just keep trying. 2 days now….WHY OH WHY DID I DO A RESTORE?!?!

Just got back from the Apple Store and they are giving me a new iPad2. They don’t have the 64 gig in store so I have to wait until Tuesday but the new one will have the update.

I don’t think this will help me now. I decided to reset the phone back to factory settings and it said I would be given an option to save all contacts, text messages, that sort of thing and it never did so I am stuck with my phone set back to factory settings and everything else lost, all pictures, all contacts, text messages, applications, everything…and all because of this stupid update that caused all applications to crash when I tried clicking on any of them. Is there anything I can do about this now?
