Android Market is growing fast, and the growth rate of Apps in Android Market is now more than the Apple App Store. According to recent research Android Market will cross Apple App Store by August 2011.
According to Germany based Research Firm research2guidance, Android Market added 28,000 new apps, whereas Apple only Added 11,000 apps in the App Store in April 2011.
If the current growth of new Apps addition is maintained till August so Android Market will hit 425,000 Apps and will surpass App Store in size.
Android Market’s high growth rate does not necessarily mean more revenues for developers.
On the contrary, the success of an app store is negatively correlated to the success of an average developer. All analysis on the early months of an app store including the Android Market shows that average download numbers decrease dramatically after the first months or even weeks after the launch of the store. The long tail gets longer and longer while the top 5% gets richer and richer.
It doesn’t matter how many apps a mobile device has, what really matter is the Quality of Apps which every user wants. But the way Android Market growing it seems like in future it will rule the world of Apps which was maintained by Apple App Store since App Store was launched.
