Windows Phone 7 Jailbreak Unlocker Tool Released called ChevronWP7

From many days there were buzz about the jailbreaking and unlocking of Windows Phone 7 were going on. Rafael Rivera, Long Zheng and Chris Walsh are three Windows Phone 7 hackers who have manage to Jailbreak ( unlock ) Windows Phone 7 with their Unlocker tool called ChevronWP7. Now your Windows Phone 7 can run apps with access of private API’s. So it means there will be no need of Marketplace Registration which cost around $99 per year.

From Chevronwp7 Official Blog:

Today we have an exciting breakthrough for the Windows Phone 7 homebrew community – the ability for anyone to unlock a WP7 device without a Marketplace developer account.

Unlocking allows the sideloading of experimental applications that would otherwise can’t be published to the Marketplace, such as those which access private or native APIs.

We’ve taken the pain out of the process involved and put together a super simple executable that will allow anyone to unlock any WP7 device on the market using a USB cable and just a couple clicks.

This tool is completely safe and reversible for the phone. (The app even allows you to relock the phone.)

One of the best feature of this tool is it can revert your Unlock back to lock state to save End user license.

This is the first release of this tool so may be it may have some bugs, eveyone who are interested to unlock/ jailbreak their Windows Phone 7 should do it on their own risk.

We are digging more on this tool to find out how much it is succesful. Stay Tuned!
